James Wilhoit Special Teams Clinics:
Kicking and Physical Training: 1 hour
A breakdown of what makes a ball go higher and farther and how physical training can increase hang time and distance on kicks and punts. Explanation on a warm up and flexibility that will be beneficial to a kicker's balance and range of motion. Video examples will be used during the session to explain the strength and flexibility program.
Kicking Instruction: 1 hour
Teaching the proper kicking technique to make your kickers more consistent using a drill set much like you would with a quarterback or wide receiver. Video examples will be used during the session along with a step by step Powerpoint presentation of the mechanics of kicking. I will show you what to look for with your kickers and how to correct common errors during practice and competition. Kickoffs will be included in this instruction.
Mental Game Presentation: 30 minutes
An introduction into Sport Psychology and how to implement Sport Psychology to enhance your practice sessions. Understanding a little more about a kicking specialist can help with how to deal with a kicker after a successful play or during adversity.
Snapping and Holding and Presentation: 30 minutes
Teaching the proper way to get "perfect laces" every time for the field goal operation. Also, learn the popular "Aussie Drop Punt".
On Field Presentation: 1 hour
Going to the field to put kicking instruction into action. I will demonstrate the different drills and explain how to implement the system.
Total: 4 hrs of instruction
