Kicking Fundamentals and Technique Work:
- Kickers will start each session with the fundamentals of kicking. Specific Kicking Drills will be used to help each kicker master controlling the flight of the ball. These drills help give each kicker feedback on how high and accurate they are kicking the ball.
Working Under Pressure:
-Kicking under pressure is imperative to being a successful kicker. Each kicker will have 7 field goals and 5 kickoffs charted in each session. Dealing with pressure is similar to lifting weights, the more you do it the better you get. It is extremely difficult to simulate pressure when a kicker is working on his own and these lessons give each kicker a chance to compete with other kickers at their same kicking skill.
Kicking & Lifting Training Schedule:
-It is important to have a specific kicking and lifting schedule for kickers. The combination of kicking, lifting, and running can help take a kicker to the next level. Each month a suggested workout will be provided to each kicker based on his specific needs.
Video Review:
Using a brand new online technology, each kicker will have their video posted on the Web and Coach Wilhoit will give a detailed video review of their technique. Kickers will be able to go online and access their video to get feedback from the kicking session.
Follow Up Questions:
I have found that most kickers will have questions at the end of a group session so a 30 minute follow up will be provided at the end of each session. This is a great time to get questions answered that may not have been answered during the group session.
